This year, 2009, we are featuring a Celtic theme for our Block Challenge (Our thanks to Northcott Silk Inc. for providing the background fabric). The kit contains a 15″ square of background fabric, two yards of fusible black bias, and instructions. A deposit of $10 is required but it is returned once a completed block is submitted.
The block challenge is a great way to show off your skill and creativity without having to complete an entire quilt. Also, prizes will be awarded for the 2009 show favourite.
Last quilt show, 2007, we received 35 entries for the contest -
and selected blocks were used to create this year’s, 2009, raffle quilt Terrace Garden. The remaining blocks will be used to create smaller quilts and/or quilted items to be sold or raffled at a later date.
